Holy cow, this month has flown by! We are bounding into June and I am so ready for the summer! May has been pretty eventful. Justin and I hosted our first dinner party for my dads birthday, we prepped and built two large raised garden beds, (click here to read more) I made my own mixed nut butter, coconut butter, and coconut milk on the same day, and we have been prepping for an upcoming party that we are hosting in June!

I am starting to realize that time is going faster and faster as I get older. There is simply not enough time in the day, the week, or the month to get everything done, but I am slowly learning how to manage my time more wisely.

I am a very busy gal. I work 40 hours a week, so on top of that, I have to find time to take care of chores, Ava, go grocery shopping, write for the blog, study for my certification, and spend time with friends and family.

But I love it. I have finally found something to be passionate about and while I can’t be a full time blogger, foodie, and nutrition consultant yet, I am going to bust my booty to get to that place, because that is where I am the most happy.

Anyway… I thought it would be fun to compile a list of things that are MY JAM each month. These things can be food related, clothing, activities, tv shows, books, anything really. None of the products or things that I talk about are sponsored so you will just be getting my 100% honest opinion. So lets do it!

Butter Coffee/Matcha Latte

Every morning, workday or weekend, I always make time for my morning butter coffee or my matcha latte. A morning without my latte is like a morning without snuggles. Cold, dark, and lonely. Making my morning drink has is one of my favorite expressions of self-care. Measuring each ingredient, listening to the coffee maker go, it’s all so calming to me. It’s my favorite morning ritual. Second to snuggling of course.

Each of my morning drinks include a list of ingredients that are very nutrient dense, so it usually keeps me filled up until lunch time. I add a bunch of good fats including 100% grass-fed butter. I also add a great source of protein, either Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides or Beef Gelatin. A tablespoon of hemp hearts and a teaspoon of coconut sugar is enough carbs to get my energy going. Top it off with some cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of sea salt, and my morning drink brings me so much joy. I savor every sip.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz coffee
  • 2 tsbp ghee or 100% grass-fed unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 1-2 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides/Gelatin
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend for 1 min.

BeautyCounter’s Charcoal Bar

I recently have begun using BeautyCounter’s Charcoal Cleansing Bar and I love what it is doing for my skin! The charcoal bar is a soap bar that can be used to wash your face and body. Jaybird X3 Wireless Headphones

I have finally switched from regular headphones to wireless ones, and I feel like a free woman! I recently purchased the Jaybird X3 Sport Bluetooth Headset and I love them! They are so comfortable and so versatile! They are basically custom fit, with multiple ways to wear them. While it did take me 20 mins to figure out how to put them on… they fit so snug in my ears and they don’t budge.

The sound quality is very good and the battery life is a full 8 hours, taking only 15 min to get an hour worth of listening in. I would definitely recommend these in-ear headphones to anyone who is looking for a good quality sound and no fuss of comfort and fit.

The Balanced Bites Podcast

This podcast has been all I listen to lately. In the car, working out, at work, while I’m cooking and cleaning, basically all day, everyday. The Balance Bites Podcast with Diane Sanfilippo and Liz Wolfe is so engaging, informational, hilarious, and inspiring. Both Diane and Liz, cohosts of the show, are super smart and have a great way of explaining how a whole food diet and lifestyle can be so beneficial for your body.

Not only do they talk food, but they each have their own specialties, keeping it fresh and interesting. It is so inspiring to see Diane and Liz’s success with their blogs, consulting businesses, books, and programs. I hope to accomplish half as much as they have.
